This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to social justice, community advocacy, and compassionate leadership. Katy was recognized for her crisis response work and leadership through Roots Wellness Center, supporting individuals and families through trauma-informed, culturally responsive behavioral health services.

The federal government has given Minnesota 60 days to provide documentation for Medicaid claims from the last quarter of 2025 to check for fraud. Until then, $260 million will be withheld.

At Roots Wellness Center in Saint Paul, therapists are reporting a growing demand for mental health services as immigration enforcement activities increase in the Twin Cities. Local mental health professionals emphasize the importance of accessible support for individuals impacted by these changes.
